BIO

Professor Kraiselburd received a Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard University, a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, and an Electronic Engineering specialized in Microprocessors from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina). Besides his academic credentials, Santiago has had wide corporate experience, including working as an independant consultant at 4Rsystems, a leading provider of software, analytics and information services that allows retailers and manufacturers to increase profitability by more accurately matching supply with demand. At Citibank, among other functions, he was a Vice-president in the Corporate Banking Division, in charge of an eleven country region e-commerce. At Aerolíneas Argentinas, where he was brought in by American Airlines (who were in charge of the airline"s operations in 1999) he was head of internal consulting and worked in improving purchasing and inventory management for the 10,000 employees. At Arthur Andersen he was a Senior Consultant and worked in several Supply Chain Management and Information Technology projects. Santiago's research interests center on incentives and coordination across company boundaries, with an emphasis on contracts between manufacturers and retailers. He is active in research projects on Vendor Managed Inventory, Quick Response and other lead time reduction initiatives, and the interaction between finance and inventory practices.
