BIO

Prof. Sudip Gupta is a professor of finance at the Carey Business School, Johns Hopkins University. Previously, he was the director and faculty member of the Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University’s internationally reputed MSQF program. Prof Gupta’s current research, teaching and consulting areas include Artificial Intelligence- Machine Learning (AI-ML), auctions, corporate finance and fintech. He has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before Johns Hopkins, Prof Gupta was a full-time faculty member at ISB, Kelly School of Business-IU, NYU-Stern, and UMD-Smith School of Business. He is an award-winning teacher, and his research has appeared in top academic journals and won the best paper award. He has written papers on AI in finance, alternative credit rating, nowcasting, credit default swaps, fintech, IPOs, treasury auctions etc. Prof Gupta is a fellow of the Centre for Responsible AI. He consults top multinational organisations, governments, and banks and has been an expert in various financial class action lawsuits and other antitrust matters, such as M&A. He helps build data science and analytics teams for various financial organisations on Wall Street and has served as chief data scientist for a fintech firm.
