In the 28 years that Mr. Birla has been at the helm of the Aditya Birla Group, he has accelerated growth across markets and geographies, and significantly enhanced stakeholder value. In the process, he has raised the Group’s turnover by over 30 times to USD 60 Bn. Today, over half of the Group’s turnover comes from global operations.

He has been the architect of over 40 successful acquisitions in India and globally. Under his stewardship, the Aditya Birla Group enjoys a position of leadership in all the major sectors in which it operates, from cement to chemicals, metals to textiles and fashion retail to financial services. Over the years, Mr. Birla has built a highly successful meritocratic organisation, anchored by an extraordinary force of 140,000 employees, belonging to 100 different nationalities.

Mr. Birla is also an eminent educationist. Apart from being the Chancellor of BITS Pilani, he has served as Chairman of the Board of IIM Ahmedabad and IIT Delhi. An alumnus of the London Business School, he is on its Asia Pacific Advisory Board and is an Honorary Fellow of the school.

INDUSTRY ADVISORY COUNCIL

Our Industry Advisory Council comprises accomplished Industry leaders with keen interest in education and represent a range of industries and functional expertise.
They have an objective to achieve high level of industry integration and experiential learning components into the BITSoM curriculum which would sharpen the program design and relevance to the needs of industry. The council will also advise the B-School on building executive programmes and on applied research initiatives.
